So we never got to tip a vendor on the wedding night because they try to leave discreetly and get their payment before the wedding, now we are seeing them again and we don't know if we should bring envelopes with tips or bring a tangible gift.
What would be an appropriate gift to bring a vendor to say thank you?

I guess it depends on the vendor- if it is a company, you may want to give a tip, if it is a home business or something you could give a gift.

What would you give as a gift?

That is what I am wondering about. What would be a nice gift? It feels weird giving a tip after the fact...

If you worked kind of closely with the person, like a florist, you could always get a gift certificate to a nice restaurant or a spa. You could also give a gift basket with wines.

Sad as it sounds....a bottle of alcohol (wine, run, champagne, vodka) is always a good gift!

Honestly, I don't think it is weird to give $ after the fact. I don't know anyone who would be dissapointed with that.
I wouldn't replace the $ with a gift, but seperate the two. How about an envelope with slightly less $ than you would have given at wedding and a little gesture gift purchased with the $ difference. (Bottle of wine, beautiful vase, restaurant gift certificate, etc) Best of both!!

If I am going to have a few more meetings with them, when do I bring it?
Or should I send a fruit and cheese basket?

IMO - they would prefer to just get a cash tip to do with it whatever they please.

Basically, it a two person company and one person is the owner. A lot of people say not to tip an owner, but I would feel weird tipping the assistant and not the owner, so I was thinking of sending a gift for the two of them (a basket from Harry and David, maybe?)
