Thank you Note Ettiquette

Hi Girls!
Any suggestions on what I should write in a thank you note to someone who gave us a card saying our gift is at their apt and that they want to make plans with us to bring it over to us (we haven't made plans yet but I am pretty certain we will)? I will of course thank them for being there on our wedding day, but not sure whether to address the gift by saying 'can't wait to see it' or just not mention it at all b/c I don't want it to seem tacky but I also don't want to ignore that she has gotten us a gift even though we don't know what it is yet.

I am in a similar situation as you, a friend of mine did not give a gift and said they have it at their home and we have not met up (just to catch up).

I wrote on the Thank you card.. 'Thank so much for sharing in our special day. Your presence at the wedding meant so much to us. We hope you had a great time.'

I figure when we finally get the gift I can send a small note to them to thank them for that.
