thank you question

thank you question

I got a couple of 'no' responses with a check (which was very nice of those people)
Do I send them a thank you now to acknowledge that I received it or do I wait until after the wedding & send them the one everyone else gets & just write something like 'sorry you weren't able to make it but your generosity was grately appreciated' (something like that.

Yes, send the TY now. They sent you a gift now so send a TY now. If you are sending TYs with a picture later, you can send it additionally, but send something now. It's the right thing to do. Think about it, if you sent a gift to someone and could attend whatever event they were hosting, wouldn't you want the thank you for your gift right away?

I would send them a thank you now and then a more formal one after your wedding.

I got a platter from my registry, I'm sending the same thank you I sent for the shower, since the other ones aren't ready (obviously - no pics). FYI: It's 'greatly appreciated'. Not sure if that was a typo.
