Thank you's

When writting out thank you cards for checks do you mention what the $ would be used for?

Like.....

Thank you so much for your generous gift, we are hoping to put it towards our crystal stemware. We can't wait to have you over to celebrate with a glass of wine.

Is that stupid?

I just think it's too 'Thanks for the cash' if you don't write a little something in there.

What do you think?

I mean, yes we might use it towards bills but I don't want them to know that. LOL I wan't them to think they helped purchase a gift that we love. That way if they come over it's not like, 'yep, we paid for your electric this month' LOL more like 'oh, these are the crystal stemware that we helped buy'

haha...while paying the electric is a much more practical use for the $ I do agree that they would prefer to know it went towards a gift you love...its a good plan!

i did this - i think it makes them a little more personel but beware - it's VERY tedious if u have a lot of TY's to write!
