Thanksgiving Dinner

I've been in this country for 7 years, and we've been celebrating thanksgiving since, but still don't know what are the side plates that you are supposed to have for thanksgiving. DH is making the turkey

Re: Thanksgiving Dinner

OMG!!!! Talk about high in fat!! My family not only serves starchy vegetables, but insists on deep frying them also!!!

We usually have mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, deep fried cauliflower, deep fried asparagus, corn and OF COURSE!!! Cranberry Sauce!!!!!!

Oh, yeah and stuffing!

Re: Thanksgiving Dinner

I love fried cauliflower & broccoli & artichoke hearts.

Crean bean casorole with mushroom soup mix & fried crunchy onions on top is also popular.

The basics are stuffing, mashed potatoes & cranberry sauce.

Re: Thanksgiving Dinner

We also have mashed turnips with bacon bits. I also usually add a bit of the bacon grease when I mash them up and lots of butter.

My atereries are hardening as I type!!

Don't forget fresh baked bread too!!
