Are any Thatched Cottage brides going to do their ceremony there? I really like the outside area for the ceremony but if it rains I will be in their chapel inside which I don't really care for. Also, I wanted to take pics in between the ceremony and cocktail hour but dont if I get married there, I will miss the whole cocktail hour. Any suggestions??Thanks.

Only suggestion is to take pics before the ceremony. Thats what were doing. FH refuses to miss a room full of food.

Re: Thatched Cottage
We attended a wedding there last year and try not to miss your cocktail hour - the food there as a guest was awesome! We couldn't believe how much was at the cocktail hour - they had all sorts of stations and it was really great. It was rainy too (June) but still really nice. - we didn't mind at all. They had their ceremony elsewhere and were there for the cocktail hour.

Re: Thatched Cottage
I was in a friends wedding there 2 years ago. It was in November, so the ceremony was indoors. It wasnt in the upstairs chapel though, it was in the room on the main level. We took pics beforehand at Vanderbilt and she was there for her whole cocktail hour.

funny story about a weddings i went to here...it was fh's friend from college... the ceremony was outside - it was hot and muggy - but one of the bridemaids projectile vomited in the middle of the ceremony!! omg - it was crazy!! we had a great time at the wedding, but that is what i will always think of until i go to another wedding there!!

Re: Thatched Cottage
i am doing my ceremony at the thatched cottage and i pray to god i can do it outside, i feel the same way you do. but, my fh went to a wedding that was in their chapel and said it is nice and everyone loved it, the view alone will make it nice.
