Thatched Cottage Brides

I was wondering if anyone has heard that it smells there when its low tide....

I'm looking at September 09. Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

Thanks Ladies!

I wasn't a TC bride, but lived in the area for most of my life. It does smell and it's U-G-L-Y when the pond has been drained, but you don't really have tides--there is a dam, and I'm pretty sure the TC knows or can easily find out when there are plans to drain it. (and obviously they try to avoid scheduling parties during the draining periods). If you are thinking of booking there, but have that concern, I would address it with your contact--he/she would know best.

My cousin was married there over summer and I was very impressed with the grounds and the staff. You should have a wonderful wedding, if you choose the Thatched Cottage.

There is no low tide because its a lake with a dam. They drain it every Monday, and there is no water until Thursday when they let it back in. I went to sign my contract on a Wednesday, saw it with no water, and freaked out -- that was the whole reason I loved the place.
They explained it all to me, and even showed me a newspaper article explaining it all. They said they would never ever drain it when there is an affair.

the tasting was amazing!!!!
We had it out on the gazebo, it was like we were at our own romantic private restaurant!
Have fun!
