Thatched Cottage Brides.. what hotel??

I know there are several hotels near the thatched cottage, i am not really familiar with that area and looking at a google map isn't really helping. I was wondering what hotel anyone can recommend near the thatched cottage to block rooms.

Also, since I have you all in the room, where did/are you having your rehearsal dinner as well??

thanks ladies, hope i get some responses.. i appreciate your help

There really aren't many hotels in that area. How far are you willing to have your guests travel??? As for rehearsal dinners....Nicky's in centerport is very good and it is right there. Huntington Village isn't that far and there are a tone of restaurants. FH Rileys
Off the wall
Piccolos
I can't really think of anymore, but I am sure if you search the Huntington area you will find plenty. Good luck!!

We used the hilton, but it was not close at all -- it took about 25 minutes. We didn't have too many oot, and we hired a shuttle. One couple stayed right next door at the chalet motor inn, and she said it wasn't bad at all.
We didn't have a rehearsal dinner.

The Thatched Cottage gave me a brochure for the Holiday Inn Express in Hauppauge. Did you get that? I was told they provide a free shuttle. It says in the brochure that they provide this service if at least 10 rooms are booked. I just called this morning to block rooms. I was transferred to the person who handles that, but I had to leave a message. I hope she calls back soon! I want to get that taken care of.

We looked there -- that is true, but only 1 14 person shuttle. If you have 1 people or more, you are screwed. They'll send the shuttle back and forth, but that really won't be helpful because the TC is about 30 minutes away, so it would take too long for it to go back and forth. If you have less than 14 people staying, its perfect. I used the Hilton because most people were coming from Brooklyn or NYC, so the Hilton was closer to them, while equidistant from the TC. I thought the Hilton was a little nicer than Holiday Inn Express for almost the same price. However, the Hilton shuttle was not free. We found a local car service and asked them for a van, much cheaper! I don't remember the name of the car service, we just found a huntington phone book and opened it up and made calls.

I'm sorry, don't stress!!!
I didn't really try to negotiate with them at all because I knew we'd be using the hilton -- it was just more convenient for us. I'd call and try to negotiate a second shuttle. They were very nice when we looked there, ask them what will happen if you have more than 14 people -- maybe they will want your business and throw in a second shuttle. If they dont, you can hire a car service -- NOT a limo company -- any local car service can send a second van for abt. $100-150, which is a lot less than the limo companies were asking. Don't stress. Just call the person you booked with and negotiate your butt off!
