FH and I are having a really hard time deciding between having our wedding at Thatched Cottage or The Woodlands. I saw TC first and fell in love with it and then saw Woodlands and fell in love. Now I am leaning towards TC while FH is leaning towards Woodlands.
How are we supposed to decide?? Any comments/suggestions/negatives/positives about either of these places would be greatly appreciated!! This is so stressful it makes me almost not want to even be engaged! PLEASE HELP!!!

Well I'm sort've biased... but I LOVE TC. I just think it is soooo sweet looking and cozy and we had our tasting a few weeks ago and the food was AMAZING!!!
They will let you do a tasting prior to booking.
The Woodlands is definitely real pretty too.. you def have a tough decision, good luck!

If you love both, try deciding on menu options and pricing or what they will throw in for you. The look of the place is important but don't forget about things like the menu, bathroom locations, bridal sweet and pictures inside and out.

i love the food at woodlands. I think you would have a great wedding there. I have never been to TC so i dont have anything to compare but you wouldnt go wrong w woodlands

When I was looking back in '08, there was quite a price difference between the two. Which is why I went with Thatched as it was substantially cheaper and fit into our budget. The 'feel' of each is different as well. As you mentioned, Thatched is 'cozy' while Woodlands has a more 'grand' feel to it IMO. Thatched was wonderful (although I did have one major hiccup in the beginning) and I had the best day of my life. However, if $ were not an issue, I probably would have chosen Woodlands. There is a good reason why it's more expensive.It is quite impressive. You can't go wrong with either. As I said, it depends on your budget and the feel you are going for. Good luck!

I had an amazing wedding at TC! I would definitely do a food tasting and then make your decision.

Im totally biased because im getting married at the thatched cottage but I STRONGLY reccomend it. EVERYONE I talk to that has been there always raves about how nice it is there and says the food was great. I had never even heard of it before I was looking at venues and I fell in love as soon as I walked through the door!

just remember, it's not the location that makes the wedding, it's your attitude, your guests, and your happiness!! my FH always reminded me that no matter which venue we chose, we would have the most amazing day! :)
