So my Aunt and my Mom had started a little tradition many years ago that they do a '12 days of Christmas' gift exchange. Basically On the first day of Christmas they get each other 1 gift, usually a little something..but they would leave it in a place that would be a surprise to find later...On the second day, they would get 2 gifts. So on and so forth. It can get really hysterical, by the 12th day you usually get 12 random things.
I just think that a lot of people have lost the fun and magic in Christmas and this little tradition brings the spirit of Christmas back into the hubbub of the season.
What is a fun tradition that you girls do with your families that makes Christmas amazing every year?

OK this is gonna sound weird but my Mom is from Spain and we have a family Spanish cookie recipe for Christmas... No joke while making them you literally become drunk hahaha!!! you fry the dough in wine and the fumes make you wasted. Its hysterical and a load of fun!!!

Re: The 12 Days Of Christmas
Since my family is in California, I am hoping to start new trends with FH's family....
Last year, we brought the young girls to Midnight Mass with us...This year, we hope to again.

since i was born my mom has read 'the night before christmas' to me on christmas eve. when i was a teenager, me and my cousins would give her such a hard time but she still read to us. now it's such a special tradition to me and i can already picture her reading the story to my kids

Re: The 12 Days Of Christmas
i love the 12 days of christmas idea...maybe I will do this with FH this year...we are trying not to do huge gifts like usual
a tradition that we have in my family (i still live with my parents) is on christmas eve we usually go out to a relatives home or a christmas party and when we get back home at night before anyone can go upstairs to their room my mom needs to sneak christmas pajamas under everyones pillows (when we were little she would tell us that santa brought them special for us)...she still does it to this day so we all match for pictures in the morning...i'm kinda sad that this will be my last christmas home to get them
