The Baby Food game at Baby Showers?

The Baby Food game at Baby Showers?

What are the rules exactly? and how can it be done in an organized fashion?

This is what Im thinking

Bring jars with no labels.
Number the jars
Have people taste them (does EVERYONE in the room have to participate?) I dont want to bring 45 jars or I guess just 45 spoons?

and who gets the prize? the first person to guess? what if the first person to taste guesses it, that will be no fun for everyone else.

I thought the rule was to just look at the jar and guess, no tasting allowed? That's how I played it at my fsil shower. It was a lot harder than tasting it!

thats a good idea too. because tasting it can be easy.

and when one person guesses, do you stop and not ask anyone else and just get another (different) jar ?

I just found a good way to play:

'Baby Food Taste Test' - Buy eight jars of baby food - cereal, fruit, veggies, and meat. Cover the jars with foil and write a number on the side of each jar. Pass out plastic spoons, paper plates, and paper and pencil for each player. Ask players to write the numbers 1 through 8 around the outside of the plate. Pass around each jar of baby food and have players drop a spoonful next to each number. They must taste the globs and try to identify each flavor. Remove the foil to reveal the answers. Whoever has the most correct answers wins a prize. You'll get some funny faces during the tasting so keep the camera handy!

The way we played it was:

10 jars in a basket, no food labels, just labels #1-#10.

The basket was passed around from table to table while the party was going on.

During the gift opening, they announced the answers and you had to score yourself.
If you got 10 right, you win a prize, and so on ...

Another great game we played last week at my cousins shower was getting brown paper bags. Each bag had a letter on it to spell out 'baby shower' Each bag had a 'baby' item in it that started with that letter and you had to guess what it was. Again, the most right wins.

Example:
B Burp Cloth
A Asaspirator (sp?)
B Bottle
Y Yellow Duckies (there was a fight over if this one really counted!)

S I forget..
H I forget...
O Onsie
W Wet One
E Ear Thermometer
R Recieving Blanket

You mommies might know better things to put in the bag! Oh, and the new mommy gets to keep all the great items!

Anna, don't forget to do the dirty diaper game. They played it at Natasha's shower, I came after it started so I missed it, maybe she can explain it better than I can.
