The baby shower I threw this weekend ( a tad long)

I wanted to share some of the detail photos of the baby shower I threw this weekend.
Big thanks to Claud (who is also friends with the Mom-to-Be for video taping and using the digital camera) I have more photos that are being developed. The digital camera and I are not very good friends
what was really, really fun is that she had NO clue. My friend is adopting a baby from China and we don't have a definate date when they go to get her, plus since no one had ever discussed a shower with her before she honestly thought no one would have one for her. Most of her friends and family are scattered throughout the country (she lived in a many places) so she figured it would just be too hard to organize one too. I sent her a printed BBQ invite and even asked her if she could make her famous gacomole (sp?) for the BBQ. then earlier in the week I e-mailed her and asked her to bring 2-3 outdoor chairs because Scott and I didn't have enough for everyone. the funniest was at 12:30 Saturday she called me to ask if she could bring her dog to the BBQ. Her dog is wonderful and a great dog but afraid of Beemer (plus Beemer doesn't like other animals in the house) so when they come for dinner they cannot bring her. BUT for an outdoor thing Diane figured 'why not' the dog will play with the kids and not be bothered by the cat So of course I said 'of course you can her'. I would never say No so I didn't want to get her suspicious. Anyway when she walked into my house she was SOOOO surprised it took her minutes to even figure out what was going on. She just couldn't understand why her friends and family were at MY house for MY BBQ

Flowers were placed in many places. Burton's did them for me and the flowers were beautiful!

Very nice, I guess I will hit you up for some ideas soon. PS I saw the clothes on the line idea at my GF's shower, I think its so cute. Great job. Please explain the baby food game to me. I like the motherly advice book too, very nice, a great way to know the people that attended.

The cake photo will be posted once I get my regular film back this week.
Baby Food Game-
the guests must guess what type of baby food is in the jar. I purchased 5 jars of Stage 2 baby food. I made up cute game cards and the person with the most correct answers won a prize.

Michele, looks like the shower you planned was a big success. I love the clothesline you set up. So much thought went into everything and it shows.

cardstore.com lets you buy one printed invite at a time so you can really send someone a great 'fake' invite for $2.00 or so.
