The Bayview House at Captain Bill's ??

Any comments? I am not real thrilled about the fact that it is a restaurant, but the Bayview House looks nice on the webpage...I just called and they said $95 for Saturday and $85 for Sunday. Saturday there is two weddings and Sunday there is one so I could feel free to pick whenever. 18% service charge + tax. She also said tip is optional, not mandatory. 5 hours - $10 pp for an extra hour and $5 for 1/2, cocktail hour outside but it is under a structure that has hard walls so it is not like a regular tent....also includes a 3 tier cake of my choice from a Bakery that I know in Lindenhurst. Children and DJ 1/2 price.

Sounds sweet to me, just have to check it out which could change everything obviously but has anyone booked/had reception there?

Best food I ever had at wedding hands down. I did not like the fact that you had to walk through the reception room to get through the cocktail hour. Room was stunning!!!!!!!

Visit the hall. I LOVED the room - very simple decor, right on the water. I think it is best for a late fall/winter/early spring wedding, when the surrounding docks are not full of boats! We decided against it just because we thought the CH space was a bit too small. Otherwise loved it!

The Bay View house is seperate from the restaurant - I really like the space a lot.
Keep in mind that it's busy down in that part of Bay Shore between May - September - lots of cars, lots of boats.

The Venetian has changed a lot since my wedding in January (all the renovations are done now, I think). But I love it there - the food was so good!

I was just at the Bayview house at Captain Bills a few weeks ago for a retirement dinner & I thought it was beautiful. I agree about having to walk throught the reception room to the cocktail hour- but other than that it was beautiful. I have been to Captain Bills a MILLION times & never even knew that the Bayview house existed- as a matter of fact I used to see it in bridal magazines & wonder where it was. There's separate valet & entrance- you don't even go near the restaurant. My best friends sister got married there & she says it was her favorite wedding ever!
