The best company I ever worked for closed it's doors....

The best company I ever worked for closed it's doors....

Acclaim Entertainment ceased operations on Friday. How sad! I loved working there. It was the best job I've ever had. I only worked there about a year and a half (left four years ago due to financial problems the company was having). It probably was for the best, they never got out of the hole. Still, it's sad to think about. 585 jobs lost.

Bummer. I never knew they were a Long Island company.

I am currently addicted to All-Star Baseball 2005 on the Xbox too.

Hold onto it, it's probably one of their last releases...

I remember they had just signed on the WWE wrestlers and they had a scaled down match in the Mo-Cap studio on site. It was pretty wild.

I met Mary Kate and Ashley, the big long black haired wrestling chick (damn, why can't I remember her name???), Jeremy Mcgrath, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mel Gibson was on site once...

I think you mean Chynna ? (or whatever name she goes by now?)

I am sorry to hear about that company closing its doors... its always tough to read/hear about so many people losing their jobs, esp. when its somewhere you once were and really enjoyed working there (and really, how many of us can say we ENJOY the places we work? that is a testament to how great the environment must have been)

Don:

If Felicia can spit out her 'REAL name'... then she would be considered an 'out of the closet fan'.

Uhh.. Nope, not at all. I don't watch wrestling whatsoever now ... though I did when I was a kid .. back in the GOOD old days of Rowdy Roddy Piper and Randy Savage...actually I can remember going even FURTHER back than that (dont want to date myself here though) Those were the really FUN wrestlers, IMO

Chynna was pretty famous , that's the only way I know her

ETA: Sorry Sharon, I didn't mean to hijack your thread!!!!

Re: The best company I ever worked for closed it's doors....

Don't worry

It just always felt like home there. What other job paid you to play video games, gave you free games and toys to go home with, fed you every Friday, etc.? It was like a college dorm, everyone knew everyone and there was always something fun going on. They'd have contests running all the time, parties, you name it. And boring, no way!! I think about all the people I still knew there and how hard it must have been to hear go clean out your desk and leave the building...

Chynna - that's it!! Thanks!
