Re: the big day.com
At first i thought this was a good idea but then i thought it was kinda cheesy. What happens if you don't get enough money? Ya don't go on a HM? I don't think i would do it

Personally I don't like the idea. Why don't people just give you money and then you can spend it on whatever you want? JMO.

Re: the big day.com
I don't hink it is a bad idea. I would rather help someone pay for a trip of a lifetime then a plate. If you register for your HM and at someplace else then people have the option. Not everybody can afford to pay for a great honeymoon and if more people help you then you might be able to stay a day longer. I went to a wedding that did this and most of the guests loved the idea. The HM was almost all paid for.

Re: the big day.com
I think it is a big help, I did this on TheHoneymoon.com. We both liked the idea since we don't have to register for much in the home area (and we have 2 homes!)...I hope my guests use it....it was fun to do too.

I have issues with this too but maybe b/c it's a new idea. I know back in the day....registries were controversial too when people fist started doing them.

I registered at thehoneymoon.com also, i think it is great, since we have a house and all the 'stuff' already. but my moh is asking me to register for some 'stuff' for me to open at the shower too, just so the people have an option. go for it!

Re: the big day.com
I REALLY don't like it. It is the same as asking for cash. Also - why limit yourself to using a specific travel agency or going to a limited number of places. It is almost as bad as registering with a mortgage company (yes you can do that too) They charge a fee and you have to use their services (no reason to give you a good deal because you are locked in)
Too much red tape and still tacky so I don't really understand why people do it
Register for silver or good china. You can't tell me everyone already has everything they need for their house and good china and silver. Most people do not have ALL of this.
