The Bridal Garden - Wedding Gowns Sold for Charity
Hey Ladies,
Not sure if you already know, but I just heard about this place called the Bridal Garden in Manhattan on west 21st street. They sell designer gowns that have been donated by top designers for 75% off the original price. The proceeds from the dresses go towards the education for NYC kids.
They list their designers on their website. A Girl on the site says she got her Marisa gown for $499...

I've been there but I did not find my dress there. They didn't have the greatest selection and a lot of the dresses were already worn and needed some help. A few were donated to the store by the designer. Definitely worth checking out, the proceeds go towards great causes but I wish someone had been as honest with me before I went.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Now I know what to really expect when I go there and won't be too dissapointed if I don't find anything.

I went there, and as I work for nonprofits I was thrilled to have the opportunity to give my $$$ to charity.
The room is small, the selection not so bad. You'll find everything from Anne Barge to St. Pucchi. They also let guys in there, and since its so small I don't know how everyone feels about trying dresses on and off with a guy (maybe not yours) sitting less than 2 ft outside the dressing curtain.
Unfortunately I fell in love with a dress that would have needed A LOT of alterations - it was way too small. The seamstress assured me that she could do it. My mom and I stood at the front of the store discussing how much work would have to be done, and the owner had the ***** to come over to us and ask that we keep our voices down and go to the back of the store so as not to disturb the other brides. What they were concerned about was that we were 'questioning' the skill of the seamstress and they didn't want the other brides to hear.
We walked out, but I still recommend going. You can definitely find a good deal there.
