The cake

The cake

I asked in a store for thin black ribbon for my cake. The woman told me in the store black for a wedding is morbid!! I am anything but!!!!!!! My colors are cream and black. I ordered a three tier square cake (cream) with cream sugar roses to offset the layers and I bought satin black and cream rose petals to go around the bottom. My bm's dresses are cream with a little black ribbon under the bust line and tied in a small bow. Does anyone think the black ribbon around each of the layers of the cake is too much?

Re: The cake

I don't. You have a vision of what your cake will look like, which I sure is not 'morbid' I think it sounds like a nice idea relating it to the BM dresses. I say go for it. In the end, everyone will be looking at you more than the cake or anything else anyways.

I think if you decorate the cake with flowers that might look really cool!!!

Re: The cake

not at all! if your entire cake was black, it would be too much, but what you described sounds nice! That's kind of rude of her to comment on your style like that

Completely agree. This is not the 1800's anymore. You want black...then black is what you will have sweetie

Black is extemeley timeless, classic, and elegant....you do what you want. Its not morbid
