the caterer is changing bakeries, opinions needed!

The caterer I am using is giving me the option of using the original baker (at the time I signed the contract) which is Audrey's or I can use the new one which is Black Forest Bakery in Lindenhurst.

I live in CT now, planning my bid day from far away and do not know of Black Forest Bakery. Is anyone using them and can you provide some advice?

Sorry, not familiar w/either bakery. Any chance you can taste a sample from both bakeries and decide from there?

Audrey's is really good but they have been known to mess up orders a bit. The quality is really excellent though. I don't know anything about black forest but I do believe there was a thread a week back about black forest, try a search. Good Luck.

Are you kidding me!!!...I haven't been told this..WOW...well I can tell you that Black Forest is a GREAT bakery..my whole family goes there for cakes and I use to live there in Lindenhurst..but I thought Audrey's wedding cakes are gorgeous!..this is sad news

PS - they gave you the option of still using Audreys anyway??

My friend got married last week and Audrey's did her cake and it was great.

But I have to tell you I have lived in Lindenhurst my whole life and everybody I know has always gotten there bakery goods Black Forest we have never been unhappy with there products I was relieved when I found out that was where my reception hall gets the cakes done.

Now for the post last week the girl was given the run around by one of the ladies there and they didn't have the prices straight and she was rude I to would be upset. There are a couple of woman there that are just down right rude BUT just know how great there stuff is and I would just ask for the owner or someone in charge that is what I plan to do.

Im a lindy girl too and have been to Black Forest alot and gotten cakes there - they have always done a great jib. HTH

I may not be of great help - but have been to Black Forest Bakery in Lindenhurst, there cookies and stuff is great - never had their cakes. I live around the corner from Audreys and up until I got engaged, we were there quite often and everything has been great! Personally I would go with Audreys. Good Luck!

Never heard of Black Forest, but Audrey's did my cake and it was beautiful and DELICIOUS!!!

I do not know anything about Black Forest, but we are using Audrey's and we had an engagement cake from them and it was great!!

Everyone thank you so much for your help!! Since I have a little more than two months I am going to go to both bakeries sample and decide. I have heard great things for both so I'll just have to go eat!!!!!
