The church has called me, and said we are chaning the time of your ceremony.

I am getting married May 18, 2008. Two months ago we scheduled our ceremony at Our Lady Of Victory . On Monday of this week I was called and told they have pushed back my ceremony an hour. Yes, I began to have my first wedding breakdown. Are there any other brides facing the same situation...

Oh no! Does that affect your reception time??? (Or do you have time in between as a buffer?)

thats not cool! can they do that? I'm not getting married at a church so i don't know if it involves a contract or not.

If my church did that then i would have no time to take pics. I only have like a half hour to take pics as it is.

We barely have time in between now to go to Old Westbury Gardens, believe it or not I am in the process, of waiting for the Archdiocese of RVC to get back to me. I never dreamed that the biggest problem we would face would be the Catholic Chuch...

that's not cool! after you calm down I would call them and ask for an explaination for why they are doing that. Maybe they can also compensate you in some way? Either $ or perhaps giving you extra photography time. It doesn't hurt to ask.

the exact same thing happened to me! Except that OLV wants me to change my 3pm mass to 2:30pm----after I already ordered my invites!!! Or, they said we could do 3pm if we promise not to have a receiving line and be off the church steps before 4pm---which would be really hard to do!

The pastor was actually saying how we were the only couple with a problem with this new time change! I knew we couldn't have been the only ones, I mean come on, everything is planned around the time of the church--like our limos, photos, invites, etc.

They said its because they've decided to change mass times for the first time in like 30 years or something---so Saturday mass starting in september will be 4pm and 5:15pm instead of 5pm and 7pm

I see their point, they said the parishoners wanted an earlier mass on saturdays, but we scheduled our mass time like a year ago and booked other vendors based on that time and they are calling us just now???? My FH almost screamed at the pastor on the phone, it was horrible! And, they even have a chapel downstairs they could use for the 4pm mass instead of the church upstairs which would solve everything, but they refuse to do it.

Omg I would flip out! That is insane that they would wait until now to do that to you! Now i'm going to be paranoid about my church doing that to me!

Keep us updated on what happens... that is crazy if they make you change your time!
