I am planning on having a brunch the day after the affair at the hotel. I am blocking about 50 rooms b/c we are having a big wedding and w/ lots of out- of- towners. The hotel is going to charge upwards of $20 per person. Figuring at least 2 in a room, we are looking at $2000. Anyone have an 'less expensive' ideas?

1. I love your screen name!
2. Try 56 fighter group in Melville! They do a great brunch!

I was thinking of this too. Is this a normal price quote? I did not expect that. Looks like I'll be making pancakes and eggs on a hibachi in the trunk of my car!
this is a average price...but what you could do is a continental breakfast...or rent a room and have a bakery cater it...with bagels and donuts..

I actually work for a hotel and this is the price that they will give. My mom is totally starting to freak out. She keeps saying 'eggs for $2000?' I want to make it nice since we have a lot of people staying and it is Memorial Day Weekend. Is anyone going to another place for brunch or is most everyone having it in the place their guests are staying at?

I think that's actually a good price. It depends on what they are serving, but if it includes Mamosas and several offerings, I think it's a good price. My friend had her engagement party as a Brunch, it was beautiful - - but she paid $35 a head and that was the average when she was pricing.

I don't know if this is what you had in mind, but my FMIL is having a brunch at her house the day after. It will definitely be alot cheaper than $20 a head. But you need a house or backyard that can hold 50 people. You could probably get it catered too by a deli or something unless you wanted it a bit more formal and at a restaurant or something.
