I went to Social Security today and officially added DH's last name to mine. It was a strange experience to see my birth name and the name I have lived with for 28 years change. However I am happy that I made that change. Now onto the credit card companies!

Um Iwish I could do that but we STILL havent gotten out license yet. We called Albany and it will take another few weeks b/c it was incomplete when returned to the Town of North Hempstead. So I cannot do a darn thing til then!

SS wasn't that bad. I was in and out in 10 mintues. I also dowloaded the form on the web and brought it to SS filled out.

So you just added his last name after your last name? That's what I want to do. Did you add a hyphen? I'm not planning on doing that. My new last name will be 'MyLastName HisLastName'.

On my marriage license my last name is hyphenated. However, at Social Security, they didn't add the hyphen. It's just Maiden Last Name Husband's last name. I am happy with it that way!
