The diet/workout program my trainer put me on

I figured I'd share the wealth =)

I work out with a trainer 1x a week for half hour of strength training, she put me on a cardio regimen too. Here's the program:

Food:

Breakfast-1 cup nonfat plain yogurt w/ 1/2 cup natural granola (think kashi brand, or trader joe's..when all else fails look for the brand with the least sugar)

Mid morning-muscle milk light protein shake
(its sugar free)

Lunch-salad with protein & lots of veggies. Dressing is oil & vinegar or balsamic vinagrette (easy on the dressing)

Snack: Kashi bar (under 200 calories)

Dinner: Lean meat/fish, veggies
brown rice or quinoa

Workouts:
4x a week uphill walking on treadmill (incline of 8 walk 3.7, alternate with incline of 10 3.5) for 45 min to an hour
*she recommend walking uphill to lengthen and slim the hips & thighs

2x a week strength training

She's my Jilian Michaels =)
I've been doing it for 2 weeks and seriously I haven't been hungry at all. If the incline is too hard in the beginning for you, then slowly work up to it. I started the incline walking in the spring and it has made such a difference (plus its easy on the knees and ankles).
FM me if you need more info.

Good Luck with your plan

Sounds like a great plan. I think I am going to try the uphill walking thing. I do spin several times a week. If I don't do spin I do the elliptical, but the incline walking is great for switching things up!

I'm telling you the uphill walking is harder than anything!! It totally changes the shape of your butt and melts fat. Get ready to sweat girls!
She says you can definitely mix it up with elliptical & spin, too so that your body doesn't get used to 1 thing. Seriously I started working out with her in April and she's amazing.

I wish I could get a trainer, but its just so expensive. I think I am going to start with a trainer about 6 months before my wedding! I need to get my tush in gear! My dress is pretty form fitting and I have hips!!! (or love handles! )

I only do a 1/2 hour with my trainer for $30 bucks..

I would never want to shell out 60 for the hour, and my girl says that you don't need a trainer for cardio. So I forgo buying Starbucks every day and use the starbucks/coffee money towards training.

See if you can do 1/2 hour OR see if you can find someone to train with you so she trains 2 people at once, which will lower the price too. NYSC & Golds charges ridiculous for trainers, I go to a small neighborhood gym, which makes the price alot lower. Or look for a trainer online or through a friend and bring them to your gym (just ask the gym manager what their policy on outside trainers is).

Haaa, yea that's the problem...I belong to NYSC. I got a good deal for the membership through my office and now I am committed to the gym for about a year.
