The difficulty of being a NY baseball fan

The difficulty of being a NY baseball fan

For the NYM fans -- A big market team with the last four years being small market results. If they lose, it's money spent unwisely. No one coming up in the minors and the shadow of George in the Bronx of when the Yanks win or get a superstar player.

For the NYY fans -- If they don't win the World Series every year, the team is a failure and needs to be over-hauled. If they don't win, it's another year of other team's fans laughing at the Yankee's underachievement. If they do win, the Yankees bought it.

Both of these are valid arguments.

true but lately.. the pool has been kinda dry.
none of the 'saviors'.. Ochoa, Escobar, Mora or Payton really worked out for us.

And don't have me get into Gen. K.
(Izzy, Pulse, and Wilson.)

I disagree with the yankees 'buying' the win...I've heard numerous comments by sports casters that ANY team ( well a good portion ) of them can do what the yankees did with their money and they CHOOSE not to...they keep that money close to the chest and thus....no play off's.....

i hear you dm24.. but part of the 'buying' process is being able to resign your players.
Can you imagine the Yanks winning the WS w/o Jeter, Posda, Bernie or Mariano?

.. and of course I think you would agree with me that the Yanks are easily able to outspend 2/3 of the teams out there.

I do understand your point though.

I dont agree with the 2/3 parts, I hate hearing the buying part...its simple not that true...and you have to spend to get the quality players....its that simple....I think there are other teams...even boston..that have as many quality or as close to as many players as the yank's do...and yet they fail when pushed against a wall...Maybe it is yankee's luck but they have done nothing to make them 'picked' on as much as they are or they dont have the bankroll that outweighs 2/3 's of the teams....1/3 maybe
