I ordered my dress in Feb and it came in Sept...Now its Hanging in our son's closet... Try on some more dresses to make sure its the 'one'- just to avoid 'DRESS ENVY'

Re: The dress
My only advice is to make sure it's 'the one.' I almost cried (because I didn't want to ruin my make up.. I held back), but I made my mom cry and all my friends were just like 'oh my gosh.. you look beautiful' With jaws dropped... everyone just stopped talking.
So I would just say look for that moment since we have the time because I hear a lot of girls change their mind when they buy their dress too early.

My mom and friend did get like this over the dress! My mom was ready to buy it! I dont know if I will have that moment knowing it is 'the one'.. I hope I do!.. It is so hard for me to buy anything.. I am nuts like that.. I think over everything I buy I drive my FH and mother crazy... I think I am going to make an appointment to go look at another place this weekend!!! now all I want to do is look..
Do you have pictures??? what kind did you get?

I think its smart to try on some more dresses especially since we have plenty of time.. it'll help you to feel confidient in your decision.

I don't have pictures. I wouldn't let anyone take a picture of me in the gown or the gown for fear that it will somehow get leaked to the FH. And lol.. I don't remember the name. I bought it in August and then it went to the back of my closet. I over think everything too.. I actually didn't think I would ever find a dress.

Re: The dress
I already have my dress but I would suggest trying on as many as possible, like the girls said, you want to avoid 'dress envy' where you think you love your dress but you see others that you want now too. I bought mine bc I'll be out of the country but if I was back home and bought it I wouldn't go near a bridal store! If you think you love it, try more on, bc it should only reinforce your feelings. If you try more on and you're not sure, then maybe you should wait a bit longer.

Re: The dress
Thanks everyone.. I think I am going to wait till Jan and start looking! if that dress was the one I can always go back and get it... if for some reason they dont have it then I guess it wasnt meant to be.

Re: The dress
I've already decided on THE ONE...once the tears started flowing and I didnt want to take it off I knew it was THE DRESS. Its a Paloma Blanca simple, yet elegant. For me I dont think its too early because I dont change my mind, I've stopped looking.

Re: The dress
I tried on a couple of dresses that were really beautiful with one of my best friends but I never got that WOW factor... I think I am going to take my time with it and keep looking for 'the one' but its good to try a lot on and have a basis of comparison!!

Re: The dress
the only time i would say buy it early is if you have tried a ton of dresses on already and you didnt find one you are in love with AND its a really good deal. Always wait a little bit, esp if it is a regular dress that is in stock everywhere. Only buy a dress this early if it is going out of stock or its at at trunk show for a ridicukous price and it cant be passed up

Re: The dress
I purchased my dress almost a year ago, and I am not getting married for another 8 months. I never once doubted my decision. But I just knew it was the one. I tried on over 50 dresses....my dress was the only one that brought me to tears. So if you know it is the one and you wouldn't change anything about it, I say go for it!
