I didnt want to spend more them $1500 and to be honest with the places I went to, not many dresses were over that. My dress ended up being under budget (before alterations of corse). I think a lot depends on the designers you are looking at too. $3000 can get you one heck of a dress. I would stick to that budget for now and see what you can find. If you dont find anything then mabye consider raising it. The most expensive dress I tried on was still under $3000 and that dress was pretty nice lol Good luck and have fun dress shopping!!!

My budget was $2000, but my dress (before alterations) came in at around $1250. Alterations are capped at $450 and they don't think I'll need that much, so I'm still under budget.

my budget is 5 as well... i dont think its crazy! as long as you budget what you can afford, its about finding what you love

My Dress budget is $1,500 - $2K.

I'd like to keep it under $1,500 before alterations. If its nice enough, with alterations, any necessary undergarments - keeping it below $2k.

I find that so crazy to spend so much money on a dress for one day. But I only got one shot right????

I agree with angelicd77. Try dresses in your budget first you may fall in love with a different dress.

I didnt go in with a budget. I just wanted to go in and try things and find what I liked without worrying about a budget. I figured once I found the dream dress then I would worry about the price. My dress ended up costing 3000.00 without alterations.

I found out that some places that may have dresses in one range is in a total different price range at others. Shop around. I went to a few places including Klenfeld's before I finally said yes to th dress. Definitely shop around

My dress budget is 2k max but I would actually like to spend $1500 or under. I just can't imagine spending thousands on a dress I am only going to wear once. Luckily most of the dresses I am in love with fit that budget.. yay! Lol

My budget was about 2k. But I spent less than that. I spent 1300 without alterations.

If you have it and thats what makes you happy then so be it. Everyone is different...my family is dying because I NEVER wear dresses and they are afraid I'm going to buy bedazzled or lace cargo pants..LOL..but even though I have the money I refuse to pay a lot for a dress and everyone is hysterically laughing when I say I will cancel the wedding before I spend 1k on a dress. (dramatic much...hehehehe)..It's just how I feel but I have friends who have spent 12k and my cousins wedding is August and her dress was over 7k..so follow your heart (insane or not) as long as your pocket can support it!!
