I toyed with the notion of postponing the wedding, but with so much done, it's way too late, so it looks like we may have to change venues, I'd be happy in the sense that it would give my parents peace of mind, however, I can't get over how sad I would be, I've DREAMED of having our wedding there for YEARS, and now, because of things so far out of our control, it's going to change, we had to scale back on so many things, and at this point, I feel like, why are we bothering?

y'know I would tell your venue just that...that you have always dreamed of getting married there. I would hope that they could work with you to cut costs. I was at the GCH a few weeks ago and they seemed pretty nice.

I feel your pain. . .we've toyed with that idea a couple of times, too. Will you be able to find another date at this rate? I bet that GCH might be willing to work with you because they don't want to lose the business!!!!

Awww, I'm so sorry to hear that. I was laid off in early December and it's been difficult to find a new job b/c I'm a really high level Executive/Personal Assistant in Finance (which isn't great in NY right now, lol). It's had a little bit of an affect on some of the choices we've made so far too. I hope things turn around for you guys. Can you cut other less important stuff? That's what we're doing? I'm cutting some frivlous things like chocolate menus and an additional chocolate fountain. Can you do things like that? Or maybe re-negotiate your venue? Tell them if they don't negotiate they're going to lose your business all together.
