My FI got me a bunch of yarn and some crochet pattern books for my birthday (apparently got a few interesting looks as he navigated AC Moore this weekend.) and I just wanted to let you all know about this awesome book he picked up called 'The Encyclopedia of Crochet' (I think there is also one for knitting). I was flipping through it last night and it looks so easy to follow with different stitches and a variety of experience levels.

Re: The Encyclopedia of Crochet
Oh he was - he apparently enlisted the help of 3 women - 2 who worked there and a customer to get help...he gave me a nice lesson on different weights of yarn, what all the symbols mean, and he even learned how to read the patterns to determine how much yarn to buy...lol! He was too cute! (though my mom gave him a weird look b/c all he bought was BABY yarn and baby blanket patterns, she was like - are you trying to tell us something!?)
