I was just curious does everyone get the annual phone call from the ex? Mine tries to get in contact at least 2x a year (usually by IM's) Why is this???

Not anymore but right before I was getting married I got numerous IMs from my ex of 4 yrs. I would try to ignore them until they go away.
ETA: He could have had me when he had the chance but he cheated on me and we wanted different things out of life. I am not a believer in remaining good friends with exes. Whats the point?

i had an ex break up with me... then 2 minutes after explaining why she had broken up with me.. she's like.. can I call you?
I said without skipping a beat... 'why?'
she never called.
I don't know why people do this.. I have a friend of the FW who's ex called her.. he tried pulling out all the stops.. tried to get her beck.. she's like.. I'm engaged'.. and he was gone. He was bad news anyways. He treated her bad.. and he deserved every bit of this.

I got several IM's from several different ex's.....one being about a week before the wedding, he asked if I was nervous yet...LOL...
other than that..once they heard I was getting married...they stopped!

I knew I couldn’t marry a man who couldn’t accept the relationship The EX & I have as friendship with a dash of resentment and a shovel load of TMI on both parts. One of the best things I love about Jim is he never says anything bad about The EX, but laughs with me when I make fun of him or listens to me while I talk about the resent news from the West Coast Caper.
The EX even invited to the wedding along with his FW. We’ll see how that works out! So yah we still call maybe once a year.
Most of my other ex’s usually fall into two catagories. A – I dumped them and frankly ran as far and as fast as possible (no contact) B – They dumped me. Yes, they call. Yes, some tried to get me back, but I never warm up to leftovers.
All but The EX have stopped calling since they found out I was engaged.

I have a PSYCHO ex... keep in mind that my FH and I met when I was in 10th grade! So this ex was my boyfriend from when I was 15 years old.. he was 18. He was psycho! I dumped him and he tried to run over my new bf with his car after school. He used to peek into my windows and my best friends windows every night to make sure I was home?!!!! Then he went away to school and would write me 10 page letters EVERY DAY! Still after all this time he wants me back and is stuck to the past. I see him in the town bars every now and then and he just stares. Thanksgiving eve he tried to say that he wants to be friends because he still loves me! I am like get over it I was 15 years old that was 8 years ago... you are now 26 years old move on with your life. AHHHHHHHHH what a psycho.

My ex usually tries right around my birthday and X-mas. WE talk for about a half hour and then he drops off the earth for another year.
Back in the day when people had beepers instead of cell phones he always paged me with our old 'date'. Did not go over well with the new boyfriends I had.

Ditto .. I used to hear from a few ex's by 'IM' but that was well before I met FH.. I don't hear from anyone any longer. But even then it was nothing more than a IM or an email here or there, nothing consistent. One ex would purposely pop up on IM with the main intent to see if I was involved with anyone .. I always said I was, even when I wasn't, just to get rid of him! LOL
It seems that somehow word got around when I was living with FH (even before we were enaged) all IM and/or email contact ceased . Yahoooo!
I NEVER had any interest in contacting an ex once it was over, whether I was the dumper or the dumpee .. I never understood what compelled these guys to randomnly IM me ..

nah. One I used to hear from occasionally, but I lost touch with that circle, I dont' thin any of them know where I live. The other we have friends in common so i see him from tiem to time & we are friendly & have gone to each other's parties, but we rarely contact each other for no reason. He is invited to the wedding though.

My creepo-stalker ex broke up with me over two years ago, and calls constantly... I even got a new cell under my FH's account, but he tracked it down somehow... the straw that broke the camel's back is when, a few months ago, he called and left me a message describing exactly what I was wearing that day. CREEPY! And then a few weeks ago he emailed me saying that he found out I'm getting married, and the only reason why I'm getting married is because I really wanted it with him and I'm not over him... next time, I'm filing a complaint with the DA!!!!

i used to get occasional phone calls, and emails...but ever since i have told them(2 exes that would not go away!) I got engaged the emails have stopped...and i am assuming there will be no phone calls anytime soon either...but that is fine with me!
