The Federal Government Hates Me... [UPDATE] and so does my job!
I am Jane Q Public. I work full time. I watch bad TV. I can be swayed by clever advertising on occassion. I'm an informed consumer. I celebrate holidays. I am tolerant of others. I read the newspaper. I obey the law. I vote. I commute.
So why does the government hate me with the fire of a thousand suns? Why won't they send me my freaking W2? What did I ever do to them?
Did I ever tell the government to shut up? Well, once, no twice, but that's because they were jerking me around about an NEA fellowship and that was like 5 years ago! Okay, well, did I ever tell the government they were incompetent. alright, yes, but it was the DMV...I mean, c'mon... and the DMV is actually a state agency, so there! I've never been critical of the government... except for the last 2 elections, and the war, and the economy, but I'm a democrat, what do they expect?
But still, aside from all of that, I still want to pay my taxes!! I'm begging to pay my taxes. Pleeeeeeeease, take my money! Put it towards whatever you want... funding for nuclear testing, projects involving biting the heads off of kittens, plastic surgery for ugly marsupials....I don't care! Just don't come looking for me for tax evasion!!
Although maybe that's what this is all about. The government is finally ready to get its revenge on me for my bad attitude.
Maybe I should go pay some parking tickets... can we be pals then Mr Government? Huh? Can we?

and if you want to get rid of your money so badly.....you can easily send it to me, and i might even be able to spend it more frivilously than the government..... there are tons of Johnny Depp trinkets out there that i still need..... not quite biting the heads off of kittens, but it's close!

I can't believe that you are unaware of the intense hatered that our Federal government has for primates and primate lovers!!! Remember when King Kong climbed up some of our nations most treasured landmarks? Eventhough we know he meant no harm; our government knows how to hold a grudge. So I just spoke to my boss and he's all, 'Well, it was mailed from Utah on the 26th, but with your change of address, who knows when it'll get to you...'
My first question: What the hell government agency is in Utah? Is that the Ineffective Revenue Service?
My second question: Do I look like a jack@ss to you? I didn't just change my address to some arbitrary location. I live there! I recieve mail, forwarded mail even, without a problem! I didn't change my address to Brigadoon, you asshat! Any mail I would have recieved at my old address is being forwarded, by the US Postal Service to my new address. It's not like I left the delivery of my mail to some slack-jawed yokel I happened to see on the street.
The Conclusion: Apparently, I do look like a jack@ss, because I just have to wait and see if it comes by the end of this week.
This is almost as bad as last summer's birth date debacle with my health insurance company.

I thought w2s came from your job or the payroll company your job uses. ( which may very well be in UTAH.) And everobody knows their jobs HATE them!

i moved in august, left my job in june. i haven't received my w-2 yet either. and one of my husband's tax forms ended up at our old addy (we subletted so the lady called us) even though we have mail forwarding. i think maybe they don't forward tax forms. in any case i'd see if they can send another copy to your new addy if you haven't already. that's what i did and i'm praying it shows up soon!
