what do you do first..Social security (and is it a b^&ch?) ? Then DL and PP? Then other small nonsense...like bank etc...

my boss just changed her name she got married in sept. she said it was so easy. she went to Social security first and once that was changed she did her license.

You don't need to do SS before the DMV. I did them both on the same day. Generally, once your SS is done you can change everything else (bank, CC, loans, etc.). DMV is just good for photo ID but you don't need to do SS first for it.
If you go first thing in the morning it is not so bad. If you go midday it will be worse!

I live in NYC - I did SS first and then DMV (I do think you need the SS card to match - they need the same name) - then passport and everything else (credit cards, etc)
