The Flower Girl Decision of 2012

The Flower Girl Decision of 2012

So I need your advice!

I am not having a human ring bearer, my little chihuaha Dylan is my ringbearer.

I don't have any little cousins or anything so when it comes down to flower girl, the decision has been tricky.

Here are my options, tell me which you think is best:

A: The little sisters of one of the bridesmaids. (Her husband is the best man and FH's best friend). They're twins and will be 10 next April.

B: The two kids I babysat. The little girl will be 4 and the boy will be 6. I would do just the girl but I don't want to upset the boy and I don't mind having flower children.

C: One of the little girls from church I work at. I'm not sure who from the church I'm going to invite yet, so I'm not sure if I would invite this family or not but the little girl I'm thinking of would be 8 next April.

Thanks girls!

Hmm... this is tricky....

Is your heart set on having a flower girl?? would you be ok not having a flower girl and just having your pup as ringbearer??

hmmm...Not regarding age I think choice A is the closest to you and FH and seems like they would be in your life the longest after the wedding. Is 10 a tad old for flower girls? Eh, I think you can get away with it, though.

Not sure how long you have been babysitting kids from choice B, and C seems too random since you were possibly not inviting them anyway.

That's my outsider's perspective! HTH!

No, it's not set. But I feel like I'm 'supposed' to have one.

i dont think you need to have one. choice a - the 10 years olds seem to old imo. My flower girl is 8 and i think she is on the older side...but she is my one and only niece and wants to do it so im fine with it. option b & c seem strange too because they arent close with you.

i would say dont have one
maybe give out petal cones for guests to throw as you walk down the aisle when the ceremony is complete?

Thanks girls. I'm going to see what FH thinks about having no flower girl.

I agree with the other girls that you do not have to have a flower girl.

I am not having a flower girl or a ring bearer. I do not have any nieces or nephews (I will this summer but they will not be old enough at the wedding) or cousins that are the 'right age'

You do whatever you want! I am having 2 flower girls (my 3 y/o twin god daughters) and no ring bearers.

We are not having a flower girl or ring bearer at the wedding. We both have many little girl cousins and we woudn't be able to decide on who should be in the wedding. So we decided to just not have a flower girl.

We have a ring bearer and no flower girl....it's ok!

But I'd go for option A if you have your heart set on one

A 10 year old is too old to be a flower girl...i was going to have my cousins little girl be a flower girl and when i found out that she is going to 10 when i get married so im making her a JR.BM .....out of the two girls the one you babysit and the one that goes to church with you ...who have you known longer??? if you really want a flower girl i would do it that way....

You don't need a flower girl. If you are really close with the kids you babysit, have them both. Have the boy walk your dog down the aisle.

DEFINATELY THIS!!!!

IMO You don't necessarily NEED a flower girl. But if you HAD to have one I'd go with option A.

I'd go with Option A, although you do not need a flower girl. IMO, a 10 yr old is fine. Who says they have to be little kids? My niece will be turning 9 the week after my wedding, and he is my FG.

ITA with what everyone else has already said. Of you NEEDED/WANTED a flower girl I would go with choice a, but I wouldn't call her a flower girl, only cause 10 yrs old may be pushing it age wise.

Maybe you can call her a Jr. Bridesmaid and have her walk in with your dog?

Otherwise I would opt for none.

The friends that do have children will be having their children this year. The oldest will be a little over one when we get married.

I babysat the kids for like 2 years but they're crazy so I'm not sure if I even want them at the wedding.

FH wants a flowergirl so I think I'm going with option A.
