The Foundry

Hey guys,
I am wondering if anyone is having their wedding at the Foundry in Long Island City (www.thefoundry.info) I am trying to come up with some ideas - I am having both the ceremony and the cocktail reception there. Just trying to get some suggestions as to how I should set up the ceremony spot. We didnt rent the space outside so all we have is the inside.

Thanks

i love that place, wanted to book but we have too many guests, Have you thought of what kind of wedding you want to have? maybe what i would do is set up small tables with chairs on the side and also some on the balcony for comfort... or i don't know what your budget is but how about a lounge set up kind of like how the hudson hotel is set up (outside) or if you remember how carmen electra and nave navarro set up their space with all the tufted ottoman-like seating!

Re: The Foundry

Yeah it's a great space. I haven't decided a theme yet. I know I want a lot of candles/votives type things. We are doing it very casual - not an actual sit down dinner - more buffet type set up. The alcoves that you see is where all the catering will be so I can use that. Upstairs I am using the half round tables that The Foundry provides but the downstairs I am having 6 tables. We are about 90 people. The problem is that since I am having the ceremony there, I don't know what to do. Someone suggested having the guests stand up for the entire ceremony holding votives/candles around us so that we wouldnt have to worry about ceremony seating. I think this is a good idea but now I am calling up different ministers and it seem that the ceremonies can run from 15-18 minutes and that seems to be a long time for people to stand. I also don't planing on having assigned seating so I can't have the guest sit at their tables during the ceremony,
It's all so confusing.
Thanks for responding. I really need all the input I can get.
