The FOURTH of EIGHT CRAAAAAAAAAAAZY NIGHTS

Once again...
...my inside and outside menorahs!

(I'll have you all know that I made Bridal Reflections change their menorahs because they were displayed improperly. The sales person told me that someone else told her different. I said 'Listen, I have been Jewish for 35 1/2 years with a Bat Mitzvah under my belt. I know my stuff

She looked at me liked I had two heads and then I had to explain to her that if a menorah is on display for customers to see, then the bulbs have to be started on the right side. The menorahs in question were inside the store on tables and the bulbs were started on the left side. So I switched them both. Had they been in the window they would be reversed.

I had to say that it was very nice coming home tonight (after a horrible Islander game) to see a menorah light the window of our first home together. This after getting our license today made me smile. And I thought of you Gail, I made sure they showed us what to tell the Rabbi and where he should sign things and fill everything out!

By the way, the best thing I got for Chanukah was HALF PRICE CHRISTMAS CANDY! and its KOSHER! (Pity, I am not!)

Christmas candy has *nothing* on Easter Candy.

mmmmmmmm...... CREME EGGS...

I should be able to start getting them again in a week or two, now that Easter's coming up in 3 or 4 months....

Related story: I have a confession, my mezuzah faces the wrong way. DH asked our rabbi, to make sure it was done right. Well, it wasn't. We didn't get a chance to change it. Next thing you know, my ANNOYING know-it-all uncle comes over and makes a big to-do about being Superjew and having to kiss the mezuzah. He didn't even notice it was on wrong!! This is the same guy who we caught reading the phonetic hebrew at a service even though he insists he reads Hebrew. Caught-ya!!! Now DH wants to leave the mezuzah that way to see who notices! It's probably bad luck or something so I guess we should change it.

And I don't think I did my menorah the right way either. FYI, I blame all of this on being left handed

I was upstate this weekend for xmas with FH's family, and you should see the way they had the menorah lit in the mall up there, it was beyond wrong. They had the middle candle lit, and then the one immediately to the left of it!
