The Fun has started (mini vent)

When FH and I first got engaged, my aunt offered to throw my shower at her house, I said thank you and that I would let her know. Well FH and I decided to move into the apartment at my FSIL's house ( to help save money SO we can buy our own house sooner then later) and she offered since the apartment will be ready and FH will already be leaving there to have the shower at her house so we wouldn't have to pack up a car and unload it, we could just move all the gifts and stuff to the apartment. I thought that would be a great idea and easier on everyone. I spoke to my aunt about it and she said she was fine with everything. Well the shower invites went out and she calls my grandma (not even my mom) and says she didn't know the shower was on a Sat. and she has to work so she wont be able to make it, then she says oh the wedding is on a Sat. also I have to see what I do about that. I might not be able to make it. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!

Oh well I guess I just have to let it go, I'm sure this is just the beginning.

Your wedding is about you and your FH!!! Noone elses!!!!!! If she cant make it then she has to live with that.. The party will go on..

I'm sorry to hear this ....

Are you close with your aunt? If it's bothering you so much, maybe you can call her or go see her and explain that you were hurt by the comment that she may not be able to make it to your wedding? I am close with both my aunts - if either of them said that I'd be VERY upset too. And do you think she is just saying this to 'get back at you' for not having the shower at her house? If you explain again why it will be easier to have it at your FSIL's house, maybe she will understand better?

Oh I hate family drama, I'm sorry you have to deal with that

...BUT if it makes you feel better my Uncle told my dad that he didn't know if they could make it to our wedding because they have to find someone to watch the dog
