the GARTER - wearing both?

Here's my garter

I was just thinking about the whole tradition of both garters. It was really important to me to have the tossing one AS WELL AS the keepsake garter. But now I'm wondering how exactly that works. The smaller one is removed and thrown at the reception and the other is taken off in the privacy of your wedding night

So does that mean that I should wear BOTH all night? Or do I only wear the tossing one and then throw on the other later on when we leave the reception?

What did you girls do (or are doing)?? I was just assuming that I'd wear both the whole night.

I wore both and we didn't even do the garter toss! Actually my mom bought me one, and then i found a snoopy one that i loved, but i didn't want my mom to feel bad, so i wore both.

i had 2 also, but decided to wear only 1 since we were not doing the toss....turns out i forgot to wear any! oh well!

I wore mine (the keep one) all day. At the RH when I freshened up before the cockatil hour I put the throw one on too. When DH went for it I reminded him to take the one closest to him and leave the other.

I put my sister incharge of reminding me to put the second one on!

oh man I still need to get a garter! ughhh thanks for reminding me though!!

I think I might just get a plain one. I was going to get a Marine Corps one but didn't like any of the ones I found

I wore both.... we didnt even do the whole toss thing, but i still had DH take off my gater and it worked out perfect.... he put on his Rangers Jersey, and he didnt even know that the Garter was a Rangers one!

i got it on ebay. It was pink with hearts and had a little sterling silver snoopy hanging off it.

i can't find the exact one, but i just did a search and found this one:

I wore both. DH removed the tossing one, then kept the other one in his pocket. He was just amazed that I, a true Yankee fan wore a Mets garter for him.

I wore both, and I made sure to put the one that was to be tossed on last, so he'd grab the first one. It's fine wearing both, you don't even feel it. And the tossing one is so small that you can kind of bring it all the way up to the keepsake one, and the keepsake one will basically cover it. Below is a pic of mine where the keepsake is covering the tossing one.

I wore both and as DH was about to go under my dress, I whispered to him that there were 2 and to only take off the one closer to him!

I had both but wore one throughout the night.

Right before the garter toss I had the 'toss one' slipped on over my knee. I didn't want two garters cutting off my circulation

If this is something you are definately doing I would suggest the option of wearing both? one on each leg ?

I wore them both, tossing garter closest to my knee. I made a boo-boo when DH went in for it and came out with the RIGHT one the first time...I was like 'That's the wrong one!!!', so he went and put it back and took if off the other one. That's when I realized HE was RIGHT the first time. He had to put that one BACK on and take the other off....lol...can't wait to see the video. Poor thing was all flustered in front of his grandparents to do it in the first place LOL I had him go up there THREE times LOLLLLLLLL
