The Great Thanksgiving Post!
With one week to go I thought it would be nice if we all posted one thing we're thankful for..maybe we can each post every day...keep the true spirit of the season in mind...Aside from the obvious, Today, I'm thankful for singing, and the release that I feel when I sing, and the fact that i have a pretty voice and I can make it carry and ring out, and I can use it to bring comfort to myself and joy to others.

Re: The Great Thanksgiving Post!
Gonna go deep for second here…I am (as always) thankful for my suffering. It has reminded me others are more unfortunate than me and gives me great appreciation for the good times.
I am thankful to be alive. I know it sounds simple but this makes suffering endurable. Nothing is easy but nothing is as grand as being alive, looking at the sky at night and seeing that we are so small. To hear the careless and nearly wild laughter of a child makes all anger slip away and life seem mysterious.
I am thankful for Jim. I have had my troubles and paid the price of life. It’s good to have a ‘safe place’ in a man who loves me while I continue down my road to the unknown. He is my sidekick companion on the rough waters I choose to take, the crooked path I choose to walk, he is my everlasting security blanket that in him I find peace when I am coming apart at the edges.
I am thankful for my father who has raised me to never think of only myself but to see the world around me and be grateful that I am in it and to try to help those who suffer no matter how I may feel I am the one who needs help. He’s taught me that everyone has something in them worth caring for and that you need to look a little harder sometimes before you make judgments. Mostly I am grateful that he taught me to question everything and believe that anything can be true if you want it to be.
I am thankful for my brother without whom, I would not be alive, literally. He has taught me to find humor in the dark, to find laughter in the rain and never lets me forget I am but a small explorer in a world of curiosities and that because of this you are NEVER too old to be young, enjoy your youth eternally. From the man who wears star wars ski caps to his wedding I have learned it doesn’t matter what ‘they’ think as long as you got a good laugh out of it and no one got hurt!
I am thankful to my mother and my stepmother who have, and continue, to show me hate unending. They have taught me the ugliness that people have within and the shadows that can easily grow from any who are near them. They have, without knowing, given me the gift of unrelenting faith in myself and determination to never be like them. I may slip in the direction of evil but I am reminded of the pain they caused me and it reminds me that it is not right to cause it onto others, so I am thankful.
Finally, I am thankful that I am me. This is not arrogant, it is true. It is good to know I have faith in myself to remember all I’ve been taught and forgive myself for my errors. I am thankful that I my upbringing has given me the strength to say I love myself for all the glory and shame that I am. I am imperfect and it is beautiful. I feel pity for those who are not me and always remember, there are those who wish they could have half of the life I do and again, this makes me appreciate all I have and so I am thankful I am me.

Oh yeah, and I’m REALLY thankful for LIW, which helped so very much in making my wedding so unique by allowing me to vent, ask, steal or review ideas!
