The guest list is killing me.

The guest list is killing me.

My parents are paying for the reception at Flowerfield. My mom said they'd pay for 125 guests. She saw a draft of the guest list and her and my dad decided 140-150 guests was a more realistic number and they are still willing to pay for the reception. (AND they paid for my gown!!)

My FH's parents contributed a very generous amount of $, but not nearly what my parents are giving, which is totally fine... BUT they still have a massive guest list.

They don't want to cut people off the list and said that the money they gave us towards the wedding (and my parents $) should more than cover all of the guests.

BUT in OUR MINDS, we were using THEIR money towards *Flowers, *photographer/videographer, *DJ and *limo.

We were going to try & stretch it out so that FH and I have to pay for: *ceremony, *ceremony music, *invitations, *rings, *honeymoon, *gifts, and *hair/makeup.

With the current guest list, that is 40 people OVER BUDGET, my FH and I would need to come up with an addtional $6400.00 for the reception ALONE!

WHAT DO I DO???

Are you calculating in the number of people who will say no?? Maybe you won't be that far over if you do. I'm sure it will all work out.

Not everyone will say yes, so hopefully you won't have an additional 40 people. And maybe you can move some of those people to the B list.

That's exactly what I was thinking, but then I realized we already factored in quite a few of the 'NO's' and the future inlaws aren't understanding the concept of a 'B LIST'. ugh!!

I would be honest. Be like my parents gave us this amount and that pays for xyz you guys gave us this amount and that pays for xyz. If you invite these people who is going to pay for it because we don't have the money to cover it or offer to split it with them if you have the extra money.

you may be surprised by the number of no's..i feel like lately many girls have had no percentages in the mid 20's..so like 25% of the guests invited decline
