o.k so I went to the east meadow jewish center and the westbury manor today, both of which were very nice. At the westbury manor we would only be able to have the wedding on a sunday afternoon, the east meadow jewish center can be on a saturday night. I am having trouble deciding on which one. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I really have no suggestions on either place. I just wanted to say don't base your decision on the day of the week you can have. People love you and they will come even if your wedding was on a tuesday afternoon. Good luck!

Hey Ljoy, East Meadow Jewish Center bride here. So far so good, quite happy with them. If you want a Sat. night then go for it, if it doesnt matter then it is your decision.

Went to a wedding at EMJC two years ago and all I can say is it was GREAT!! The cocktail hour was unbelievable and the food was good (people at our table had seconds). The only bad (ah, more strange) thing was beer was served in what seemed like small juice glasses, so people drinking beer were always looking for the waiter.

thanks for the info. Sean is who I was speaking with at the emjc, he was really really really nice. To be honest the emjc turned out to be alot nicer than I had expected.

Saturday night I feel most of your guest can let loose and not worry about going to work the next day... Plus I like Saturday nights because it can be more of a formal affair,.but it's all preference.
I'm sure which ever day you choose it will be magical day!

Anyway, I dont know anything really about either place but I will say that I LOVE saturday weddings because I agree, people can let loose more and stay longer, I know I like saturday weddings better! that was a priority to my FH and I.
But I also agree, I think that its your day and you should do whats best for you guys!!
