The Hollows....Need Advice!!!

SO,

FH and I went to Fox Hollow today! After seeing Crest Hollow yesterday, FH was really impressed with the size of the rooms (as was I) and we were really smitten by our BM, Mitch and plus the Iced Tea was to DIE FOR but I couldn't really get past that the bathroom and bridal suite were on the lower level while the rooms were on the upper level.

ANYHOOT, we decided to check out Fox Hollow today...and all I can say is that I LOVED IT!!!!

From the moment we drove up, I thought it looked quaint and charming. We wound up meeting with Dave, the director there and he showed us around the place. FH wasn't really too impressed with the overall look of the place, but I thought it was SO pretty--especially the Winter Garden Pavillion. He also showed us the middle room, which I TOTALLY disliked and then the Garden Terrace, WHICH I LOVED!!

He gave us a GREAT price (best of all of them) AND also told us that we'd get a room in the hotel next door for that night. Best part of all? He gave us a stuffed fox doll at the end....FH was convinced that was the reason why I really liked the place!

I guess I have a few questions though.....the BM DAve said that we couldn't have the WGP room for cocktail hour if we chose the Garden Terrace--do you think I can negotiate that somehow?

ALSO, when do we get to do a food tasting? Is that when we book the place?

Has anyone here been there for a wedding? Do you have any feedback?

THANKS SO MUCH LADIES!!

Hi! I'm booked with Fox Hollow as well. You should def repost all your questions in the Fox Hollow thread that's posted on the Brides Helping Brides board!

That's awesome that you got your room at the hotel included... I know they only do this for 'off season' weddings (so mine wasn't included, boo! lol). I loved the WGP ... that's our reception room. You might be able to negotiate your CH room unless another reception is booked for that time/day. Probably closer to your wedding if the room is free they'll be willing to do it!

As for the tasting, we haven't done one yet. I know that if you go and have dinner in the Fox Hollow restaurant one night, often they'll give you free appetizers if they know you're booking with them. They don't do official tastings (I've found that few places do).

I tried negotiating the same thing. They told me that the only way this was possible was if nobody booked the Briar FOx.WGP for the night. If it wasnt being used, then they could give it to me, Otherwise...Im stuck w. the briar fox room. But I LOVE THE GARDEN TERRACE and am hoping for good weather... maybe I will have an outdoor CH

Re: The Hollows....Need Advice!!!

Honestly, it's only a CH. I'm having my Reception in the Garden Terrace and I can't have my CH in the Winter Garden bc I'm having over 200 guests at my wedding. If you're having a smaller amount of ppl coming, the most you can hope for is that nobody books on your day, then you maybe can get the WGP for you CH.

Re: The Hollows....Need Advice!!!

Thanks Gals!!!

Well, I'm back and I'm def SOOO confused!!

We took our parents to see both Crest Hollow AND Fox Hollow and our parents did NOT like Fox Hollow at all.

Firstly, the hall smelled a little when we walked in--I'm assuming it's from the use of the waterfall in the WGP--did anyone else notice that?

Secondly, the BM we met with this time was NOT really that great this time. He seemed a little cold and almost annoyed at the fact that we were there which I did NOT like.

I'm really not sure what to do....I thought I would go in and book today and I left feeling TOTALLY confused!!!
