the HPV Vaccine- update!!

so i found out my insurance covered it in full since i'm under 27. i went today to get my first of 3 shots. i was happily surprised when the dr said left arm or right arm? i'm like i thought it was given in the arse, shes like no theres no need to. shes like i always give it in the arm. so she gave it to me in my left arm and it just felt like any other shot i've ever had. no biggie.

Oh wow....I didn't know about the vaccine. Too bad I'm too old to be covered.

HPV is such a mystery!

I'm 33.
My dr. wanted to protect me against certain strains of HPV that the Gardisil will protect from. my insurance does NOT cover it. I pay for it all out of pocket.
When it comes to my health....I don't fool around.

So good to know this. I'm going to call my Dr. tomorrow

I've actually heard of people who aren't sexually active getting HPV....it's still fairly a new thing and they don't know everything about it (that's at least what I was told years ago by my gyno).

It's worth getting the vaccine, I think!!!

Yes! I'd rather be safe than sorry. One of my friends got HPV from her husband (he slept with someone else ONE time, not that it makes it right but just shows how easy it is to contract). She found out she had HPV when she was told she got cervical cancer from it. She had to have a histerectomy because of it. Better off safe than sorry!

yes u never know what kind of curve ball life will throw u. yes i think i will be with fh forever but god forbid something happens i will kick myself if i didn't get this shot.

once u hit 27, ur not covered. as long as ur 26 and 364 days old ur covered.

first one is given, then 2 months late the 2nd and then 8 months later the 3rd one is given.
