Please keep in mind when we went on our HM, whitehouse was only a few weeks old. I wrote this all up for AZAD and even though i never wrote my reviews like a good little LIW...here you go!
here is the best parts and my advice
go to the sandals lounge in the airport and have a soda or a beer or both and they have a really clean bathroom. do this before you go to get your shuttle because it is a LOOOOONNNNNNNNNG ride. and bumpy and i hadnt eaten or really slept in a while...and a hangover had set in (even though i dont htink i was drunk at the wedding, but i was never without champagne.)
if you have a buttler, and it is tashayne and alvan they are GREAT! especially tashwayne. he was awesome! and he gave us his card with his email address but we lost it and we wanted to email it to him, they were great. get them to set up dinner on your balcony, it was AMAZING! PS- although the hotel is no tipping you CAN tip the buttlers and they expect it. Also have them make you dinner reservations (even if the place doesnst take reservations, this wya you dont have to wait long)
ROOM SERVICE TAKES FOREVER! just beware. and when you are done just leave the dishes outside the door and they will come and get them.
Bring CDs. there is a CD player in the room and it will be nice to have some music.
dont bring aloe and that stuff, they give it to you.
the fun pool is the french pool, go out REALLY EARLY and claim your seats wth flip flops, a book, shorts whatever. Even if there are no towels put soemthig out. the watersports peopel will put a towel on your chair when there are towels. The italian pool is ok they have music, but not the activities (although it could have changed because they didnt have that many activities when we were there). the dutch pool only has a juice bar.
Now for the food....i ate SO MUCH. and it was great. take advantage girlie! you have been SOOO good!
Near the french pool is an outdoor restaurant. the best thing that they have is jamaicain beef patties. not going to lie the are good in gross kind of way. great with fries. Also try the steamed conch and also bama is a traditional jamaican food, it is ok...i think it is jsut corn meal or soemthign like that. NOT scary though!!
At Arizonas (the out door restaurant near the italian pool) they have great burgers. Eleanors is by far the best restaurant there, and they have lobster tails and a seafood augratin that are AMAZING! in the morning they have a stuffed french toast that is GREAT! The buffet restaurant is also good and quick for breakfast and has a grilled cheese station for lunch. Also, you can get mimosas for breakfast which is great because the bars arent open yet and a morning drink is great on vacation!! (although if you have a room with a minibar, trust me you will be all set!)
The midnight seafood buffet and martinis was good too!
My fave drink was a dirty banana. Peaches and Troy are 2 great bar tenders at the bar in between the buffet restauarant and Arizonas. But all the bartenders are fun, and the french swim up bar is still the best bar BUT it takes a while to get a drink sometimes if ou ARENT in the pool.
GET A COUPLES MASSAGE, although i have heard the scrub a dub in a tub for 2 is AMAZING but we coudlnt get it because the room for it wasnt ready yet.
Talk to the staff, they give you the dirt, tell you what to eat and tell you what to get to drink. they also make the activities cheesy yet fun.
GO SAILING! it was so much fun, and dont forget the water trampoline. Get a chair on the beach and at the pool (although it is SOOO easy to get one on the beach)
when the people are cleaning your room dont feel bad about going in, i did but they kept telling me not to and that it is my home for the week.
DO NOT FORGET YOUR DO NOT DISTURB SIGN!
ABSOLUTELY give them a credit card so that you can charge things to the store. it is SO much easier.
The firedancer and beach party are SO MUCH FUN to watch. (BEWARE THEY PULL PPL FROM THE AUDIENCE TO DANCE WITH FIRE!) Make sure to get a drink out of a coconute as well.
Also remember it is Jamaica, everything takes a while
