THE INVITES ARE OUT!!!

THE INVITES ARE OUT!!!

So Saturday morning we carried 3 boxes full of 139 invitations to the post office to be hand cancelled. I was under the impression that I was going to get to stand there and watch the hand cancelling happen. Not so. Now I'm a little paranoid that they told me they'd be hand cancelled, but that they really got thrown into some machine and are currently bent or ripped. I suppose we'll see when they start arriving. I mean we paid the lady $5.00 to hand cancel them. You'd hope they'd actually do it.

Either way, they're OUT!!!

Getting ready to have their bows tied...

Bow tying complete!

The last one to be stuffed!

All lined up and ready to go!

A nine month project FINALLY complete!

Bring on the responses!

Yep, my trusty printer and I did them! This was truly a DIY project from start to finish. Every element was designed, printed, cut and adhered by FH and me. The only things we didn't make were the pocketfolds, the ribbon and the envelopes. FH jokes that if I could have made the paper from scratch I probably would have!

I must confess... our invites were $.83 to mail and I wasn't in love with $.83 stamp. So we used stamps.com and created our own stamp. I used the grape motif that is being used throughout the wedding on all the printed materials, on the stamp. It came out really nicely!!

Yes, yes... I am anal.

Re: THE INVITES ARE OUT!!!

Your invitations look amazing! Great Job!!!

But...why did they charge you $5 to hand cancel - that should not cost anything additional.

Re: THE INVITES ARE OUT!!!

Thanks Ang!

They said it was free for the first 50 and then like, 5 cents for each one after that. I think we paid like $4.45... Hmmmm...now I feel gipped!
