the joys of being a teacher

Today, I got called a b*tch by a 12 year old.

I got a massive paper cut on my hand.

And I still love what I do!

Could be worse. You could have an 8-year-old that thinks YOU'RE the reason he can't see his crackhead mother............when the real reason is she's using again and has to got to an inpatient program

That's so sad!! Whenever I hear stories about my students like that, I honestly just want to cry. I don't know how you handle all that emotion.

It really is sad! I hate those stories!!! Unfortunately, we see a lot being teachers but I would never change my job.

Anyone else have Meet the Teacher Night tonight?? Just got home

Yikes! I'm kindergarten so parents are pretty excited for the most part...I had about 8 out of 26 not show up.

Where do you teach? NYC or LI?

One of my students (who is 4) said to me today...Baby Melissa (he has a cousin Baby Alyssa so he gets confused) 'You're tired go home take a nap and eat lunch then go see other kids.' I was so HAPPY!! And I did!!
