DH. Went into work this morning to find out that he is laid off.
Luckily, he's an accountant and it's tax season. So he should be able to find something, even if only for the busy season. He's been getting calls from his coworkers all day today with contacts to other firms and he worked on his resume all afternoon. It's ready to go out tomorrow.
But of course this is the week we were hoping to finalize our mortgage for our house we're supposed to be closing on next month... We're seeing what this week brings before we tell the sellers or the bank.
It really makes you wonder, though... Is it really necessary to spend $30,000+ on one day?!?! It came across my mind today to cancel the wedding and just elope... saving thousands...
but it will all get better soon.....................

FH and I have been having 'should we be spending this much on a wedding?' thoughts lately, too, especially because he might be a victim of the recession soon enough as well. But I PROMISE you that it will all get better. Okay, I can't see the future, but I can only give you some encouraging words of hope. It sounds like he has enough friends in the business, so something should turn up soon!!!!!!

I'm sorry to hear about the bad news. Hopefully since its busy season he'll find something soon. My FH also thinks its insame to spend $30 grand on '5 hours.' So we're skipping out on alot of extras. Good luck

thank you all... we're really getting tested before we get married... first his mother lost her battle with breast cancer, then I lost my job, a few other deaths in my family, and now he loses his job. If we can survive all of this, we're good to go.

I am so sorry to hear that!!! It's so sad how its affecting everyone. It hard watching it happen to other people, and so scary when it happens to yourself. They cut both FH and my hours at our jobs, and we needed every penny we could get..we're not even sure how this is going to happen but we're just praying... i know that is it extremely hard but try to think as positive as you can. ::hugs::

Oh No! I am sorry. It's good that his line of work has a demand. Hopefully he finds something soon. And you never know.. maybe he will find something better than what he had to begin with. Sometimes bad things happen but the out come far outweighs the bad. I like to keep hope alive. Good Luck with everything! Actually good luck to EVERYONE! Because there are soooo many of us on edge over this economy!
