The length of bridesmaids dress have to be the same as the gown?

Sorry for the dumb question but I am not a native here so I do not know much about wedding here....my MIL told me today that I should have got the floor length bridesmaid dress, which I have decided on knee length, coz my own gown is floor length... is that true they always come to the same length?

I HAVE NEVER HEARD ABOUT THAT I KNOW SOMEONE THAT HAD A LONG GOWN AND NICE LITTLE DRESSES FOR BMS

ok...thanks...then I think I will just tell her I love the knee length, very cute. If it is some of tradition then I may follow her.

Absolutely not!! I am in a wedding in June where the bride is wearing a floor length dress and we are wearing knee length. I've also seen BP's in calve length dresses when the bride was in floor length! If I was getting married in the Spring or Summer my girls would have been wearing calve length.

Have whatever length dress for your girls as you'd like....you are the bride. I don't think they have to be long because yours is long

I think knee length is perfect for a July wedding. I wanted that length for mine but I think in March the girls will be too chilly. My wedding dress def won't be knee length!

Nope! I have a floor length and my girls have little black dresses that are knee length

my bridesmaids chose a knee-length to match th MOH dress length, but my gown is to the floor. Never heard of a bride's dress length having to match the bridesmaid's.
