The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers

Has anyone recently had or been to a wedding at the light house at chelsea piers? I am looking at the location this saturday and I wonder if anyone has any input. I am also looking at Tribeca rooftop. I really want to focus on food and a unique location. Please fill me in if anyone has any first hand experience.

my sister had her wedding there. Abbigail Kirsh is the caterer. It was very good. I also looked at Steiner studios on Brooklyn.

The only problem is you have to pay for everything. each car to be valet parked, site fees, security fees, etc. It got very costly in the end.

Havent been to an event at chelsea piers but went to tribeca rooftop. The place was gorgeous and very different, plus food was amazing.

If you do a search on here you might find pics and a review on chelsea piers, a brides brother got married there and she posted about it.

ETA: i agree with the above poster, there was one venue I LOOOVED in the city and they even ask for you to pay for the electricity that night , you call up the electrical company yourself and do a contract with them

I have been to a wedding here a few years ago on the 4th of July and it was so much fun. The view was beautiful and was even better because we saw all the fireworks going on around the city. I just phoned Abigail Kirsch a few weeks ago for prices at the lighthouse and Pier 60 - unfortunately they were way out of our price range and also had high minimums for Friday and Saturday evenings. Let me know if you want that info in advance of your meeting this weekend. Good luck!

When I called Chelsea Piers they stated that everything was included. the only thing that was extra was a ceremony on site and an additional $500 to reserve closer parking spots. I am going to have to call back to clarify this. The prices are high but i got a decent quote for a sunday in february... i need to call him back i guess... Thank YOU!!!

Yeah I had called them today. . they almost laughed at me when I said I only wanted 125 people. . said that was no where close to their minimum b/c they didn't do 'small weddings: but it looks BEAUTIFUL and i hear good things about them

I spoke with them recently and I think you can definitely talk them down to 125 people, esp if not for a saturday evening, although it will depend on the month. its a great space and I seriously considered it and had a hold on a date there for a while
