The Metropolitan in Glen Cove??

Has anyone been to a wedding at the Metropolitan in Glen Cove? It looks interesting - not the normal reception hall. I'm wondering if I should consider it for my Spring 06 wedding. Any feedback or pictures would be great.

my almost sister in law is looking into it for her wedding and she seemed pretty excited..i don't know anything about it though.good luck

first, i have to laugh b/c anjerandunder, i had that avatar pic once!!! good choice!!!!!!!!!!!

secondly, yes, my bil and sil had their reception there...it was nice! it was in the smaller of the rooms.

FH went to a wedding there, he said it is very different than the average catering hall, more cozy, food was good and he loved that they had the upstairs looking down on the reception

I almost booked there. Eileen Long, the BM, was really sweet and I loved how it looked 'different'. I ultimately picked another venue b/c from what I heard, it might be a bit squeezed. I guaranteed 175 at NRC and may have over 200. My aunt and uncle know the owner and rave about the food.

We booked the Metropolitan for this September. We loved that it did not look like a catering hall, and we LOVED the food.

Yes, I've been to a wedding there on New Years Eve (12/31/03). The food and decor were great. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was that there was no where to sit during cocktail hour. No where near enough seats for half the guests. Many people prefer it this way so that guests mingle. I just prefer to sit while eating. Other than that it was great!

My mother had her 2nd wedding there. The food was great and so was the service! She got married in 1990, so I am sure a lot has changed, but they were very happy with it.

I went to a wedding there in 1995 (OMG, 10 yrs. ago!) I remember it was a lot of fun and thought the place was great.

I've never been to a wedding there, but my office had its Christmas party there this past year. The food was excellent, and it's definitely different from other catering halls. My only complaint about the place is that the bar is right up against the dance floor. It made it hard to get a drink when you had to weave in and out of people tryin to boogie.
