The Metropolitan's Club Room, Glen Cove

Has anyone heard anything negative about the Club Room at the Metropolitan in Seacliff on Glen Cove Rd.?
I really liked it and wanted to get some feedback.

WOOT! Dana, Welcome to the boards, you will like it here. I don't have any feedback about those places in particular, but I am sure the other girls on here might. You might also want ot try doing a search on the particular place to find past posts on it. I think every place on LI has had a discussion or two at some time or another!!!

I remember seeing pictures of it when I was looking. Thought it was very elegant. Never got further than seeing it in a magazine though because of location. We were looking for something on the water.

In response to your email: We ended up booking with Lands End and it was amazing!

its in Sayville. Its simply elegant (which is what we were looking for), one wedding at a time, and has great views of the bay.

check it out:
Lands End Website

If you search on here for Lands End, you'll get plenty of info.

My senior prom was at the Metropolitan. I thought it was pretty nice. I don't remember much about it though - Sorry!

Re: reception areas

Hi Dana. My girlfriend got married at the Metropolitan last fall. Everything was fabulous. The only issue - the seating is on two different floors - almost like a loft. My girlfriend said that people who ended up sitting on the top level really didn't like it and found it hard to move around and mingle. If you want to keep everyone on the main floor - I think you need to keep the wedding pretty small - say 75-100 (don't quote me on those numbers).

Good Luck!!!!

Thanks for the info. I saw the two floor thing. we are actually looking at the downstairs rooms, called The Club, so it's all one floor did think the same thing about the two floor problem. Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it. The food was good?

Re: reception areas

Everything was delicious. I can't remember too many specifics, but I remember the service being really good (I know one of my girlfriend's major issues was the guest-to-waitstaff ratio).

Good Luck!!!!!!!

Thank you for the info., I really appreciate it. We are looking to have 75 people. At the most 80. So hopefully we won't have a waitstaff problem. There is only one wedding a day downstairs, so I hope that helps. Again, thanks.
