Ok, so this is probably a minor complaint compared to some of the other issues that people have, but I'm just aggravated.
My fathers cousin (who everyone in the family hates) called my mom after she got the invite and tells her to 'make sure you don't seat me at the same table as so-and-so'
***? Now I have people dictating where they want to be seated? Would she rather be stuck at a table where she doesnt know anyone? Although it probably makes sense to seat her somewhere else, because from what I'm told it wouldnt be unheard of for her to start a fight with this person in the middle of the wedding. In which case I would not hesitate to have her forcibly removed.
I guess this is just part of the stress of planning a wedding?

Oh I have an aunt like that too. She said the same exact words as yours did 4 years ago when my sister got married. She is one to start saying negative things to and about some other family members at a wedding, funneral, etc.
Seriously, I feel your pain. I don't know where I am putting her either.

Welcome to the world that is my hell! I totally feel your pain. FMIL tells me every 5 seconds not to sit her with her ex-husband's family. I mean seriously! Does she think I'm a complete moron?

Re: The nerve of some people....
ok that pisses me offf...in my style, I would put him at a table for 2 with that person.
FH has an aunt and uncle who divorced. Aunt is FH's dad's sis. Well she asked that the uncle not be invited, bc she cant see him with his GF>
Now, the GF didnt break themup, she came after the divorce. FH is devistated...
I was also told that a 14 yr old and a 16 yr old (for my ADULT ONLY RECEPTION) that FMIL promised could come...need their own invites.......
f u its goin to the family.
Its times like this i wanna hold my head under water......

Re: The nerve of some people....
my uncle asked to not be seated next to his first cousin, there's always someone who's not talking to someone, and if it'll make the day go by smoother, just let it be. but at least my uncle asked, he did not dictate.

yeh, people feel like sometimes they are the most important people in the wedding, when its not even their wedding! I haven't gotten any 'requests' like that yet *knock on wood* , but I know my brother did when he was getting married.

Make them have a cage match to the death before the reception. Whoever comes out alive can come!

Re: The nerve of some people....
my FH has suggested we seat our families and put a basket with table numbers on the table where people get place cards. 1 number for every couple, pot luck!

Re: The nerve of some people....
Unfortunately it is part of the stress of the wedding planning.... at least she forewarned you instead of u seating her w/ the person she doesnt like and start a blow out at ur wedding.....

Re: The nerve of some people....
my grandma (who i am very very close with) said to please not sit her near the band.
i told her to remind me once we start making table decisions, but i guess usually its a good idea to seat the younger people near the band anyway.

This is my feeling exactly! This day is about ME AND FH. It is not a forum for people to air their family grievances!!!!!

yeah, she's only a single person, so it wouldnt be a problem to stick her at another table somewhere. But she is truly awful; I'd really feel bad for whoever gets stuck sitting with her.

Re: The nerve of some people....
I had to deal with that as well but the only ones I let choose who they wanted to sit with were FH's parents and also my aunt.
