umm to be honest, our hall kinda made us pick them. we have a promotional package for the winter and it included a basic package with them. we only needed to pay for upgrades if we chose to go with patken.
if we woulda chose someone else we woulda had to start from scratch and pay for an entire package

FH and I only looked at two other photogs...one was recod by reception hall and the other from family member but both of their work was very cookie cutter and did not really seem unique...we met a rep from Patken at Giorgio's Showcase and fell in love with the albums on display which just so hapened to be most of Doug's work. We set up appt. with them the following week, and met Doug and really loved his work and booked him on the spot...

I went there just to look being that so many people I know used them. I saw Jessie's book and freaked out. There was 0 doubt in my mind. I booked them last March and never looked back!

We got our epics printed the day we did them. We also got our STDs from there, but honestly....I do not like the STDs...They are huge! But whatever, I don't feel like spending to get them done somewhere else, so we are just gonna send them out next week, lol. Half the people prob throw away the STD anyways.
Other than that, I love their work, everyone I know who has used them has AMAZING wedding pics!

we took our instudio e-pics with Nick but we're also doing an off site shoot. they assigned us jessie so now we'll use er for our off site shoot

Your pictures are beautiful.. I'm trying to decide whether or not to go with Patken. I wanted to get a few more quotes, but from what I hear they are very reasonable.
